Greek Peak Skiing
When we were young children, our family took week long trips to the Greek Peak Ski Resort in Cortland, New York. A local bar had talent competition. My siblings and I, along with the daughter of one of my father's co-workers, won that competition two years in a row singing a song about our Ski Wee classes. I believe the third year, we were a runner up behind a woman who did a strip tease. The lyrics are below:
Greek Peak Skiing
Greek Peak Skiing
Oh the Ski Wee Instructors
They say are mighty fine
They tied a balloon on our hat
So they can find us every time
Oh I don't want to go to Ski Wee Class
Gee Mom I wanna go
But they won't let me go
Gee Mom I wanna go fast
Greek Peak Skiing
Greek Peak Skiing
Oh the chair lifts that are here
They say are fun to ride
But when they get all icy
It chills our behind
Oh I don't want to go to Ski Wee Class
Gee Mom I wanna go
But they won't let me go
Gee Mom I wanna go fast
Greek Peak Skiing
Greek Peak Skiing
Oh they say that skiing Marathon is
easy to skate and push
But we would rather ski down Trojan and
slide into a bush
Oh I don't want to go to Ski Wee Class
Gee Mom I wanna go
But they won't let me go
Gee Mom I wanna go fast
Greek Peak Skiing
Greek Peak Skiing
Oh they say that the A-Frame is
a really big treat
Because we have a place to go to
warm our hands and feet
Oh I don't want to go to Ski Wee Class
Gee Mom I wanna go
But they won't let me go
Gee Mom I wanna go fast
Greek Peak Skiing
Greek Peak Skiing
Oh we say that Greek Peak skiing is
fun and mighty fine
We liked our skiing lessons
And hope our parents bring us next time.
Oh I don't want to go to Ski Wee Class
Gee Mom I wanna go
But they won't let me go
Gee Mom I wanna go fast
