Notes:

  1. 1311 Ralph De Cheswick had willed a bay horse to the Rural Dean of Mamborough for which Bishop Kellawe commanded the Dean to cause satisfaction to be made to the Mother Church of Holy Island
  2. 1313 Mag. John de Cheswick, executor of the will of Richard de Cheswick, his father, was excommunicated for contumacy.
  3. 1347 Alexander de Cheswick, Coroner of Norman and Islandshire
  4. 1360 Alexander de Cheswick license to cause divine service to be celebrated in his Chapel of Cheswick for one year.
  5. 1519 Thomas Strangways, Esq. Master Porter of Berwick.
  6. 1529 Letter of Fraternity for Mag. Will. Strangways, Decr. Doctor Dean of Aukland
  7. Robert de Strangways, the first of that name in the above pedigree, was a cadet of the opulent and nobly connected family of Strangways of Harlsey Castle and Cleveland.
  8. 1811 Arthur Cole Verner born in Armagh N.I. B.A. Trinity College, Dublin 1829 - Married Harriet Aynes in 1835 at Isle of Jersey -- Mayor of Landwich, Ontario, Canada- had three sons and 4 daughters, buried at Windsor, Ont. Father of an artitst. F. A. Verner. He was a nephew of Sir Wm Verner, Baron[?] and a brother of the Marchroness of Westm[?] who was a Lady-In-Waiting to Queen Victoria.
