JOSEPH, born in St. Maurice, Quebec, March 8, 1820, married Marguerite Gilbert, June 26, 1843 who was born March 8, 1827 of Pierre, and Appoline Turcotte. (Note: not quite clear in the French version)

Their Children:

1. JOSEPH MAXIME Saillor (Sawyer) baptized August 1, 1846, three days after his birth, took for his wife, Celine Boulard St. Maurice, P.Q., February 7, 1870. He then signed Joseph Sayear.
2. MAURICE SAILLOR (Sawyer) baptized November 6, 1848, married Marie-Louise Chicoine. After the death of his wife, he married Exilia Bourque in St. Maurice, P.Q., November 10, 1874. He then signs Maurice Sawyer. Two of his brothers, Ephrem and Désiré, also sign SAWYER
3. PIERRE SAWYER, baptized April 6, 1850, married Georgiana Barnabe in St. Maurice, P.Q., September 25, 1872. In a second wedding, Rose Delina Grondin, January 11, 1875. In a third wedding, Adele Rousseau. Fourth wedding, Emelie Marcotte, September 8, 1897. He died at the age of 68, Nov. 27, 1918.
4. MARCISSE DESIRE, baptized December 21, 1851, married Marie-Anne Lord. In a second wedding, Aurelie Marchand, July 8, 1889, St. Maurice, P.Q. Signature: Desire Sawyer and Victoria.
5. OCTAVE Sayeur (Sawyer) born either at the end of the year 1852 or at the beginning of 1853, died at teh age of four and was buried February 23, 1857.
6. MARGUERITE ELISABETH Sayeur (Sawyer), baptized May 22, 1857, married Antoine Bourque.
7. ALEXIS EPHREW Sawyer, baptized April 9, 1860, married Adelia Landry.
8. JOSEPH ANSELME Sawyer, baptized May 23, 1862, married Marie Marchand, June 1, 1866 in Saint Maurice, P.Q. Signature-- Anselme Sawyer, Desire Sawyer and Victoria Sawyer.
9. JOSEPH ZEPHIRIN Sawyer, baptized August 25, 1865, married Marie Dionne in Saint Maurice, P.Q.
10. MARIE VICTORIA Sawyer, baptized July 21, 1867, remained a spinster. She died in Saint Maurice, Jan. 4, 1947, at the age of 80.
