One thing I thought was interesting was all the sandy-like soil in the area. The farms in the Tidewater area of Virginia have similiar soil. I had thought its texture was caused by the close vicinity of the shore, but maybe the texture is indicative of heavily farmed lands. |

| Pawnee Prairie Park Trees |

Pawnee Prairie Park was also home to trees. Here is a picture of some Kansas trees with sun rays trickling through. |
| Tangled Roots |
April 10, 2006 |
On one of the walking trails in Pawnee Prairie Park I ran across a slope where erosion had swept away the sandy soil and revealed the roots of a number of different trees all tangled up and competing for the some area. I wonder how many similiar "traffic jams" exist under the soil that we never see. |
| Tangled Branches |

A shot tree branches and their budding leaves. |
| Vicky and Blades |
April 10, 2006 |
Before hiking and geocaching, Vicky went rollerblading in Pawnee Prairie Park. Here is a shot of her shadow, carrying her rollerblades, against a dry Kansas field. |

| Tall Grass! |
April 10, 2006 |
Another self-taken picture of Vicky and a field in Pawnee Prairie Park. What this picture is trying to show is just how tall the grass was. If you look in the background, you will see some strands taller than Vicky |
