A snapshot from Sunset Park in Las Vegas. The park authorities were working diligently on setting up a big light display for the oncoming holidays. I thought it was an interesting combination - desert and Christmas lights. |

The Aureole restaurant in Mandalay Bay featured a four-story wine tower (and pullies and machinery to retrieve the wine). Here Mark is inspecting the inventory. |

One section inside Mandalay Bay featured a statue. In order to give it an authentic look, as if the statue was housed outdoors, bird poop was painted on.
Later, Mark and Vicky spied a real bird inside Mandalay Bay-- perhaps the bird poop looked authentic for a reason! |

Between Excalibur and the Luxor there was a Krispy Kreme store that featured a live assembly line (part of it pictured). Vicky and Mark got to watch a quality process at work. A donut came through the line that did not meet the Krispy Kreme standards. An employee yanked it out of line (it is crushed and resting near the center of the photo). He also got out a check-sheet to record the defect. The sign at the top center of this picture is a troubleshooting guide-- complete with color photos of different types of defective donuts. |
| Kevin Ledman's Pen Visits the Bellagio |

On the last day of the conference, Vicky noticed she had Kevin Ledman's pen. She called and asked if he wanted any souvenir photos.
"Yeah, get a picture of it in front of the Bellagio fountains," Ledman said.
He was kidding, but Vicky and Mark complied none the less. |

Vicky in front of the Bellagio fountains-- a taller spurt this time. This picture was taken on our last evening in Vegas-- before we caught a 1 AM flight home. We had two stops before Roanoke and each flight was roughly 1 to 2.5 hours long.
It was a loooong night. |
